Shri Keertheshwara Sadashiva Temple stands in Keertheshwar, Manjeshwar, on the coastal stretch where Kerala meets Tulunadu. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva in His form as Sadashiva — the ever-auspicious, formless-yet-present Lord who is both the stillness at the centre of things and the fire that sustains them.
Through the year the sanctum is tended with the daily rhythm of abhisheka, deeparadhana and naivedya, and through the festival season the temple courtyard is dressed in lamps, garlands and colour, as the community gathers for utsavam.

The Presiding Deity
In the sanctum sanctorum rests the Shivalinga of Shri Keertheshwara Sadashiva, framed by a silver prabhavali bearing the five-hooded serpent and crowned in flowers each morning. Sadashiva is worshipped here as the source and sustainer of the Kshetra — the still centre around which the temple's daily worship and yearly festivals turn.
Devotees come seeking His blessing for peace of mind, family wellbeing and protection from obstacles, offering bilva leaves, vibhuti and the simple flame of a lit wick.
The temple is built in the coastal Kerala–Tulunadu idiom: sloped, tiered roofs to shed the monsoon rain, sculpted granite pillars, and a namaskara mandapa open on all sides for the ringing of the bell and the offering of light. The shrine sits within a quiet courtyard, its stonework left largely unpainted so that the carving itself, not colour, carries the eye.
Alongside the quiet of daily pooja, the temple comes fully alive during its annual utsavam, when the courtyard and the surrounding lane are strung with lights, the deity is dressed for procession, and the whole village keeps company through the night.

Utsavam
During utsavam, the temple frontage and the neighbouring homes are lit end to end, and the community gathers for processions, music and prasadam through the festival nights.
